I am thrilled to share some exciting news with you! This May, I will join a team from River of Life Church (Fredericksburg, VA) on a mission trip with Filter of Hope. From May 24 to 30, we will travel to communities where families lack access to clean water—something many of us take for granted every day.
In these areas, most people gather their water from rivers, streams, or even contaminated wells. The water they drink and cook with is often filled with bacteria, parasites, and other harmful contaminants, leading to devastating health consequences. According to the World Health Organization, a child dies every 20 seconds due to water-related illnesses. But this is preventable—and that’s where we come in.
During our time in the field, we will go house-to-house with local church partners to distribute state-of-the-art water filters designed by Filter of Hope. These filters, which use the same technology found in kidney dialysis machines, can produce up to 250 gallons of clean water each day and last for at least ten years with proper maintenance. Clean water is life-changing for these families, helping to keep both children and adults healthy so they can thrive.
But this mission is about more than just clean water. We will also use this opportunity to share the Gospel with each family we meet. Just as the filter turns dirty, unsafe water into pure, drinkable water, Jesus transforms and renews all who believe in Him. This powerful illustration of His grace and salvation is at the heart of our mission. Regardless of their response, every family we visit will receive ongoing support from the local church partners working alongside us.
To make this trip possible, I need to raise USD $1,880 by April 24. This amount covers my travel expenses and the filters that will be given to families in need.
